Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake

On Saturday, Mrs. YHT and I met up with friend of the blog Trang and made our annual pilgrimage to the Pennsylvania Farm Show, and boy howdy was it fun. And fattening. The fried cheese was nice and cheesy, the milkshakes were shakin’, and the potato donuts left nuttin’ to be desired. I even snagged a free Tractor Supply Company hat, which I sported throughout our post-feeding frenzy tour of the the best and smelliest livestock the commonwealth of Pennsylvania has to offer.

It was a good day.

So how does one switch gears and return to the 9-to-5 city life after rockin’ camo at the Farm Show? How about a brand new tune from Justin Timberlake called “Suit & Tie?” Featuring Jay-Z? Even better.

The song arrives alongside an announcement on Timberlake’s website that he’ll be releasing new album The 20/20 Experience sometime this year. File this under “So Excited I Forfeit Any Claim to Objective Evaluation.” Kthx.

  1. Wait – you had nothing to say about the first new David Bowie song in 10 years?? BTW, it’s fantastic. Generation gap, I guess… Justin’s never really done it for me but this was better than I expected.

    • Haha, I do feel a little shame for writing about JT before Mr. Bowie, but I absolutely took notice of “Where Are We Now?” and also thought it was fantastic. The word “resplendent” comes to mind.
It’s funny, but songs that are that well-executed can be the hardest to write about, because everything works so well, making it difficult to zoom in on one thing.
Hmmm… I think we may have found an angle…

  2. OMG. i have been waiting my whole life for the new JT album. i hated n*sync except for the song “pop” — they shoulda had BT do the whole record — but despite being an uppity musician when his first record came out, the moment i heard the first single, my life pretty much changed.
